WATCH D.O.G.S

Hello D.O.G.S. (Dads of Great Students),

As dads, grandfathers, uncles, etc., we are presented with the great opportunity to make a difference in the lives of students at Grand Oak Elementary. The Watch D.O.G.S. (Dads of Great Students) program allows men a unique opportunity to:

take an active role in their student’s education,
provide natural opportunities for mentoring other students needing a healthy male influence,
And offer another layer of support for the wonderful administrators, staff, and teachers of Grand Oak.

Know that as Watch D.O.G.S. (Dads of Great Students), the benefits our children receive from the program and the reward we receive from a day spent serving at school is great. There is nothing like seeing the joy and pride in your own child’s eyes when, together, you welcome students to school in your Watch D.O.G.S. shirt. Or that feeling you get when a student says, “there goes a Watch Dog” as you walk the halls of the school.

In short, the program is already off to a successful start and we are expecting continued participation throughout this and subsequent years. You ARE making a difference!

For those who have not signed up for a day, remember we are asking you to take one day out of the school year to spend as a Watch Dog (you may choose more than one day a school year).

If you have not completed your background check, click here to start the process. Remember, this program is open to all men who share a relationship with a Grand Oak Elementary student. That means grandfathers, uncles, brothers, guardians, etc. are welcome to participate.

If you have already completed the background check and have been approved, you can click here to sign up for the day or days of your choice. If you have any questions concerning Watch D.O.G.S., contact either of our Top Dogs, Hank or John and we would be glad to give you more information.

See you in the halls of Grand Oak.

Sincerely,
Hank Barkley & John Gilbert
Co-Top D.O.G.s

There are also children’s  shirts available for $10 so you and your child can ‘match’ on your watch day(s). Simply email goewatchdogs@gmail.com and request what size and how many. We have a few in stock at GOE and can likely have one ready when you come your first day.
